Holiday Schedule 2017-18

City Facility Closings on Holidays

City of Georgetown offices and facilities will be closed on the following days in 2017:

  • Jan. 2 (Monday) New Year’s Day
  • Jan. 16 (Monday) Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • April 16 (Sunday) Easter
  • May 29 (Monday) Memorial Day
  • July 4 (Tuesday) Independence Day
  • Sept. 4 (Monday) Labor Day
  • Nov. 23 (Thursday) Thanksgiving Day
  • Nov. 24 (Friday) Thanksgiving holiday
  • Dec. 25 (Monday) Christmas Day
  • Dec. 26 (Tuesday) day after Christmas

Holiday closures include the following public facilities:

  • Animal Shelter, 110 W.L. Walden Drive
  • City Hall, 113 E. Eighth St.
  • Economic Development, 809 Martin Luther King Jr. St.
  • Georgetown Art Center, 816 S. Main St.
  • Library, 402 W. Eighth St.
  • Municipal Complex, 300-1 Industrial Ave.
  • Municipal Court, 101 E. Seventh St.
  • Parks and Recreation Administration, 1101 N. College St.
  • Planning Department, 406 W. Eighth St.
  • Public Safety Operations and Training Center, Police Records and Fire Support Services offices, 3500 D.B. Wood Road
  • Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Ave.
  • Tennis Center, 400 Serenada Drive
  • Visitors Center, 103 W. Seventh St.

The Airport Terminal at 500 Terminal Drive will be closed on Jan. 1, May 29, July 4, Sept. 5, Nov. 24, and Dec. 25.

The Collection Station at 250 W.L. Walden Drive will be closed on January 1, November 23 and December 25.

Solid Waste and Recycling Collection

 There will be normal solid waste and recycling collection on holidays for Texas Disposal Systems customers in the City of Georgetown, with the exception of the following holidays. There will be no solid waste or recycling pickup on these days:

  • Jan. 2 (Monday) New Year’s Day
  • Nov. 23 (Thursday) Thanksgiving Day
  • Dec. 25 (Monday) Christmas Day

For customers with pickup days on or after these holidays, solid waste and recycling pickup will slide one day for the remainder of that week.

Solid waste and recycling collection carts should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on pickup day. For questions about trash or recycling collection, call Texas Disposal Systems at (512) 930-1715.

The Collection Station at 250 W.L. Walden Drive will be closed on Jan. 2, Nov. 23, and Dec. 25 and will close at noon on Dec. 24.

Swimming Pools

The City’s outdoor swimming pools will open for the summer season on Memorial Day weekend and will be open through mid-August. Pool hours and other information can be found on the Aquatics page at parks.georgetown.org.

2018 Schedule
