Holiday Schedule 2021

City of Georgetown offices and facilities are closed on the following days in 2021:

  • January 1 (Friday) New Year’s Day
  • January 18 (Monday) Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • May 31 (Monday) Memorial Day
  • July 5 (Monday) Independence Day observed
  • September 6 (Monday) Labor Day
  • November 25 (Thursday) Thanksgiving Day
  • November 26 (Friday) Thanksgiving holiday
  • December 24 (Friday) Christmas Eve
  • December 27 (Monday) Christmas Day observed
  • December 31 (Friday) New Year’s Day observed

Holiday closures include the following public facilities:

  • Public Library, 402 W. Eighth Street
  • Public Safety Operations and Training Center, Police Records and Fire Support Services offices, 3500 D.B. Wood Road

Swimming Pools

The City’s outdoor swimming pools will open for the summer season on Memorial Day weekend and will be open through mid-August. Pool hours and other information can be found on the Aquatics page at parks.georgetown.org.

Solid Waste and Recycling Collection

There will be normal solid waste and recycling collection on holidays for Texas Disposal Systems customers in the City of Georgetown, with the exception of the following holidays. There is no solid waste or recycling pickup on these days:

  • January 1 (Friday) New Year’s Day
  • November 25 (Thursday) Thanksgiving Day
  • December 25 (Friday) Christmas Day
  • January 1, 2022 (Saturday) New Year’s Day

For customers with pickup days on or after these holidays, solid waste pickup will slide one day for the remainder of that week.

Solid waste and recycling collection carts should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on pickup day. For questions about solid waste collection, call Texas Disposal Systems at (512) 930-1715.

The Collection Station at 250 W.L. Walden Drive is closed on Jan. 1, Nov. 25, and Dec. 25, and closing at noon on Dec. 24.

GoGeo bus service

There is no GoGeo bus service on these days:

  • Jan. 1 (Friday) New Year’s Day
  • Jan. 18 (Monday) Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • April 2 (Friday) Good Friday
  • May 31 (Monday) Memorial Day
  • July 5 (Monday) Independence Day observed

The bus will run on limited hours Dec. 24 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
