Proposed Ordinances for August 8, 2023 Council Meeting

The following ordinances are on the agenda for consideration at the regular City Council meeting of August 8, 2023.  Please see the agenda packet here for more information.

First Readings

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas amending certain Chapters of Title 15 “Building and Construction” and Chapter 8.04 “Fire Prevention Code” of the Code of Ordinances providing for the adoption of the 2021 International Codes and the 2023 National Electric Code and corresponding local amendments; providing for a penalty pursuant to Chapter 1.08 of the Code of Ordinances,; providing a severability clause; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas (“City”), authorizing an annual service plan update and an update to the assessment roll for Parks at Westhaven Public Improvement District, in accordance with Chapter 372 of the Texas Local Government Code; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas (“City”), approving and adopting the Final 2023 O&M Service Plan Update, and the Final 2023 Assessment Roll (to be kept on file with the City Secretary); establishing classifications for the apportionment of costs and the methods of assessing special assessments for the services and improvements to property in the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. 1; closing the hearing and levying assessments for the cost of certain supplemental services and improvements to be provided in the District during 2024; fixing charges and liens against the property in the District and against the owners thereof; providing for the collection of the assessments; and providing for an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas (“City”), repealing Ordinance No. 2019-50 and Ordinance 2022-37, relating to approvals, processing, and requirements for plats and plans pursuant to Chapter 212 of the Local Government Code and relating to developers share of the responsibility of providing adequate streets through compliance with minimum standards governing internal perimeter streets; and, amending the following portions of the City of Georgetown Unified Development Code: Chapter 2, “Review Authority”, Chapter 3, “Applications and Permits”, and Chapter 12, “Pedestrian and Vehicle Circulation”; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; making such other findings and provisions related to eh subject; and declaring an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas (“City”) adopting specifications related to the construction of streets and roads in a subdivision; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; making such other findings and provisions related to the subject; providing for a penalty; and declaring an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas (“City”) amending Chapter 8.12 of the Georgetown Municipal Code relating to “Food Sanitation”; providing for a penalty pursuant to Chapter 1.08 of the Code of Ordinances; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas (“City”) designating certain areas of the city’s extraterritorial jurisdiction as industrial district areas; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; making such other findings and provisions related to the subject; providing for a penalty; and declaring an effective date.

Second Readings

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, providing for the extension of certain boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the annexation and initial zoning designations of Townhome (TH) and Business Park (BP) of certain territory consisting of 35.298 acres, more or less, in the F. Hudson Survey Abstract No. 295; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, granting a Special Use Permit for the specific uses of a 105’ Monopole Tower within the General Commercial (C-3) zoning district, for the property located at 620 S IH 35, bearing the legal description of 23.556 acres in the Rivery Phase 1, Block B, Lot 4; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.
