Proposed Ordinances for consideration at the November 22, 2022 meeting

The following ordinances are on the agenda for consideration at the regular City Council meeting of November 22, 2022.  Please see the agenda packet here for more information.

First Readings

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas relating to the classifications and number of positions for all City of Georgetown fire fighters and police officers pursuant to Chapter 143 of the Texas Local  Government Code pertaining to civil service; repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith; providing a severability clause; finding and determining that the meetings at which the ordinance is passed are open to the public as required by law; and providing for an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending part of the Official Zoning Map to rezone 168.68 acres out of W. Stubblefield Survey Abstract 0556, generally located at the southeast corner of State Highway 130 and East University Avenue, from the Residential
Single Family (RS) and Agriculture (AG) zoning districts to the Townhome (TH), and General Commercial (C-3) zoning districts; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending part of the Official Zoning Map to rezone 61 acres out of the J. Mott Survey, Abstract No. 427, generally located at 2800 Westinghouse Road, from the Agriculture (AG) zoning district to Residential Single-family (RS) zoning district; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending part of the Official Zoning Map to rezone 56.7981 acres out of the John Berry Survey No. 51 generally located at 565 SH 130 from the Agriculture (AG) district to a Planned Unit Development (PUD) with a base zoning of Industrial (IN); repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, granting a Special Use Permit for the specific uses of Permanent Mobile or Outdoor Food Vendors in the Mixed-Use Downtown (MU-DT) zoning district, for the property located at 601 S. Austin Avenue, bearing the legal description of 0.503 acres, being Lots 6, 7, and 8, Block 38, City of Georgetown, repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, providing for the extension of certain boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the annexation and initial zoning designations of Residential Single Family (RS) and Neighborhood Commercial (CN) of certain territory consisting of 101.24 acres, more or less, in the John Berry Survey Abstract No. 51 and the annexation of 3.68 acres of right-of-way on County Road 152 adjacent to said territory; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, granting a Special Use Permit for the specific uses of attached multifamily within the General Commercial (C-3) zoning district, for the property located at 402 and 406 Morrow Street, bearing the legal description of 0.66 acre and 0.649 acre tracts out of the Nicholas Porter Survey Abstract No. 497; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and
establishing an effective date.

Second Readings

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending part of the Official Zoning Map to rezone 0.66 acres in the Snyder Addition, Block 33 S 1/2, located at 1310 Maple Street, from the High-Density Multi-Family (MF-2) zoning district to the Residential Single-Family (RS) zoning district; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of Georgetown, Texas, adding Chapter 12.11, entitled “Acquisition, disposition, and use of City Property,” to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; establishing a penalty; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the city’s “Utility Extension and Improvement Policy to guide the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of all Utility System Improvements’ regarding the placement of water utility facilities in rights-of-way outside the city limits; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolution; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, Amending Chapter 3 “Applications and Permits” and Chapter 4 “Zoning Districts”, of the Unified Development Code (UDC) relative to the Courthouse View Protection Overlay District; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolution; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.
