Proposed Ordinances for May 24, 2022 City Council Meeting

The following ordinances are on the agenda for consideration at the regular City Council meeting of May 24, 2022.  Please see the agenda packet here for more information.

First Readings

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending Chapter 12.09 of the Code of Ordinances entitled “License allowing abutting landowners to place certain structures and facilities in the public right-of-way or public or city utility easements” regarding the placement of facilities in rights-of-way or easements with a License to Encroach and the terms thereof; providing for a penalty; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, designating Reinvestment Zone No. 2022-02; providing eligibility of the zone for commercial-industrial tax abatement; containing findings that the area qualifies to be designated as a reinvestment zone and the improvements sought are feasible and practicable and of benefit to the land and the City; providing a repealing clause; providing a severability clause; and providing an effective date.

Second Readings

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown rescinding Ordinance No. 2020-01, which provided for the closure and abandonment by Quitclaim Deed of a portion of East 6th Street between Main Street and Church Street; Finding that such closure and abandonment is not longer in the public interest or necessary for a public purpose; including a conflict and severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the 2022 Annual Budget for Mid-year obligations that were not known at the time the budget was adopted, appropriating the various amounts thereof, and repealing all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict therewith.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending part of the Official Zoning Map to rezone 0.45 acres in Block 6 of Outlot Division A, generally located at 1801 Candee Street, from the OF zoning district to the RS zoning district; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.

An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending part of the Official Zoning Map to rezone 10.526 acres in the William Roberts Survey, Abstract No. 524, generally located at 1581 State Highway 195, from the AG zoning district to 3.327 acres in the C-1 zoning district and 7.206 acres in the MF-1 zoning district; repealing conflicting ordinances and resolutions; including a severability clause; and establishing an effective date.
