Operation Safechild
The Georgetown Police Department takes an active role in problem solving the issues of crime. With child abduction attempts on the rise, the department is taking a multifaceted approach at safe-guarding our community. Operation Safe Child was the inspiration of a patrol officer in response to the rising national problem of child abductions.
When our community experienced a recent attempted abduction, we were already educating children and providing parents invaluable materials. This project also provides an avenue for the nationally acclaimed Escape School program sponsored by Dignity Memorial. With our corporate team partners of Home Depot, H.E.B. and Dignity Memorial, along with Georgetown Utility Systems Project Safe Place and the Williamson County E.M.S., we are enriching the quality of life and safeguarding Georgetown.
