Inspection Services

The City of Georgetown Inspection Services Department, located in the Georgetown Municipal Complex, 300-1 Industrial Ave is responsible for permitting all construction and conducting inspections of the work. Additionally, this department is responsible for Fire Prevention, Code Enforcement, and Event Permits.

City of Georgetown Building Codes

The City of Georgetown adopted the 2000 International Residential Code (IRC) and the 2000 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), 2001 International Code Supplement, March 8, 2002. The City does have amendments to the IRC and the IECC. All adopted ICC Codes are available by ordering through the International Code Council at www.iccsafe.org.

We have also adopted the 2003 International Building, Fire, Plumbing, Fuel Gas, Mechanical, Existing Building and Property Maintenance Codes with amendments and the 2000 IECC for Commercial projects and the 2005 National Electrical Code with amendments for Commercial and Residential projects, December 29, 2004.
