Stormwater Permit
A Stormwater Permit is an administrative permit intended to control stormwater runoff generated by land development. The Stormwater Permit requires a drainage study that is submitted to the City for any development or land disturbance. The drainage study must clearly show drainage calculations before development and after the proposed development. The study should also indicate any necessary mitigation and / or construction requirements.
Applicability
A Stormwater Permit is required within the City limits or the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) for any land disturbance. Land disturbance is defined in Section 16.05 (Definitions) of the Unified Development Code (UDC). Within the City Limits approval of a Site Plan constitutes approval of a Stormwater Permit.Submittal Requirements

Review Process
A Stormwater Permit will be issued after the City Drainage Engineer has determined that the development meets the City requirements. The Criteria for Approval, provided in Section 3.17.030 of the UDC, include the following:
- The application for a Stormwater Permit must be prepared by a licensed professional engineer prior to submittal to the City
- The permit must meet the requirements Chapter 11 of the Unified Development Code, the City Drainage Criteria Manual, and all other applicable City standards
- The Stormwater Permit is conditional upon all applicable related permits required from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or any other state or federal agency being issued by that agency. The Drainage Engineer is responsible for final action on Stormwater Permits.
