City Closings for Christmas and New Year’s Holidays

City of Georgetown offices and facilities will be closed Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. City offices also will be closed on Friday, January 1 for the New Year’s holiday. This includes the following:

  • Animal Shelter, 110 W.L. Walden Drive
  • City Hall, 113 E. Eighth Street
  • Municipal Complex, 300-1 Industrial Avenue
  • Municipal Court, 101 E. Seventh Street
  • Parks and Recreation Administration, 1101 N. College Street
  • Public Library, 402 W. Eighth Street
  • Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Avenue
  • Tennis Center, 400 Serenada Drive
  • Visitors Center, 103 W. Seventh Street

Note that City facilities with weekend or evening hours will observe these additional closures:

  • Airport Terminal, 500 Terminal Drive: open on December 24, closed on December 25, closed on January 1
  • Collection Station, 250 W.L. Walden Drive: closing at 12 p.m. on December 24, closed on December 25 and January 1, and closing at 3 p.m. on December 26, December 31, and January 2
  • Public Library, 402 W. Eighth Street: closing weekdays at 6 p.m. December 21– 31 and closing at 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays
  • Recreation Center, 1003 N. Austin Avenue: opening at 8 a.m. on December 26 and closing at 6 p.m. on December 31
  • Tennis Center, 400 Serenada Drive: closing at 6 p.m. on December 31

Solid Waste and Recycling Collection

There will be no solid waste and recycling collection for Texas Disposal Systems customers on December 25 or January 1. For both holidays, Friday collection will slide to Saturday. For questions about solid waste and recycling collection, call TDS at (512) 930-1715.
