Austin Avenue Closed Thursday, Monday Nights

Austin Avenue will be closed at Ninth Street tonight for construction of a crosswalk. The Austin Avenue closure is set to start at 8 p.m. this evening and last until 8 a.m. on Friday.

During the Thursday closure, all southbound traffic on Austin Avenue will be detoured via Ninth Street to Rock Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured via 10th Street to Main Street. The road closure is to allow for the construction of a concrete brick pedestrian crosswalk across Austin Avenue at the southern end of the intersection with Ninth Street.

Austin Avenue will be closed again overnight on Monday, May 4 for crosswalk work. That closure is set to start at 8 p.m. on Monday and last until 8 a.m. on Tuesday. During the Monday closure, all southbound traffic on Austin Avenue will be detoured via Eighth Street to Rock Street. Northbound traffic will be detoured via 10th Street to Main Street. This closure is for the construction of crosswalks on the north side of the Ninth Street and Austin Avenue intersection.
